The Fiber Arts Center Present Louisa Rose Garden Appliqué Class

In this class, Kay Butler will be teaching how to reproduce this beautifully hand quilted applique floral quilt with an emphasis on back basting applique. The quilt belongs to owner, Whitney Conard, and dates circa 1860. It has exquisite hand quilted sunflower designs in the alternate quilt blocks and quilted tulip designs in the triangular portions of the quilt. The borders are also beautifully hand quilted, and all of these designs have been included in the pattern.

The original quilt measures 84 ½ inches by 69 1/4 inches. The quilt contains 24 appliqued rose blocks which measure at 9 inches square finished and are set on point. Come join us to learn how to reproduce this lovely floral beauty!
